On behalf of your host school for the 2014 ACBSP Midwest Region 5 Annual Conference, welcome to Kansas City. Park University was founded in 1875 as an independent liberal arts, four-year, coeducational, residential institution. It has offered degrees in business related programs since our early years, and served as one of the first work/study institutions in the nation.
The School of Business at Park University has crafted its current vision and mission with input from our faculty, advisory board, students, and other key constituents. We believe Park business graduates need to be globally competitive. We have all watched the world change over the years and know the quality of global talent that we face in a more internationally competitive business world.
Throughout its history, Park has been at the forefront of creating an international educational experience for students. In 1880, Park welcomed its first international student from Japan and started its relationship with the military in 1889. Today, Park students find themselves in an enriching environment — both on campus and online — comprised of more than 650 international students representing 110 countries. Many of the Park University School of Business faculty have traveled the world and bring that international perspective to the classroom. As dean of the School of Business, I want students to have even more opportunities for a globally competitive education.
Park’s quality education flows from our faculty who play an important role in shaping our student's future, guiding them from limited knowledge of a topic to a level of critical thinking and complex decision-making. Park’s faculty, through teaching quality and service learning opportunities, offer students — whether from the U.S. or one of 110 countries — the building blocks to fulfill their educational goals. The School of Business at Park University builds an educational platform that opens a world of opportunities for students and the communities we serve.
Again, welcome to Kansas City and the Park University School of Business,
Brad Kleindl, Ph.D.
Dean, School of Business and Professor of Marketing
